Google Pixel: Wireless charging not working on Android 13

In today’s era, technology is moving fast. As we all know that today’s smartphones have become more modern. Earlier phones used to charge only with chargers but now they are charged with a wireless charger. Some smartphone makers are adding wireless charging features to their smartphones to make it more convenient for the users.

When it comes to modernity, how can Google lag behind in this field, Google introduced a wireless charging feature with the Pixel 3 series in 2018. But due to the update that Google released on Monday, some Pixel users are facing the problem of wireless charging.

On Reddit, one of the biggest social media platforms, several Pixel users have reported that their phone’s wireless charger feature stopped working as soon as they installed Android 13’s stable update. The users who reported the wireless charging issue are mostly Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL, alongside the Pixel 6 users are also facing the same issues.

A User On Reddit Said:-

On Pixel 4XL and ever since the update phone wont charge if its on the pixel stand. It shows connected but not charging. I was curious if others have noticed the same. And if there is any way to fix this?

Edit: enabling/disabling adaptive charging did not help. Typically have adaptive charging enabled.

  • Tried a few things and none are working for me
  • Disabling Pixel stand app
  • Booting in safe mode, using stand and rebooting
  • Forgetting and adding stand back

Edit: now it seems to be working. So I guess one could try the steps above or the ones mentioned in the comments and wait a bit and see if it fixes it.

It is not yet clear what the real problem is, users just wrote that wireless charging is not working on their phones. For example, Google automatically caps charging at 80% if a Pixel phone has been plugged in or rested on a wireless charger for multiple days. However, Google hasn’t commented on this issue yet. But multiple reports have been sent in via Google’s Issue Tracker.
