For the past months, everyone waiting for the cheapest version of Chromecast with Google TV, and now recently the update brought new software details, specs, and even the apparent “Chromecast HD” branding. As per the Kuba Wojciechowski talk about the full software development for Google’s new Chromecast and several details about the device. The key point is the name of this device is known as “Chromecast HD” within the code.

Features expected from the new Chromecast HD with Google TV

Google makes this device cheaper because they don’t want to expect a result like the “premium” 4K model. This device ships with the support for virtual A/B seamless updates and compression. Through this user gets the updates frequently as compared to the original Chromecast with Google TV. The updates don’t affect the user’s storage they go straight to partitions. The size of RAM 1.5GB will be a bottleneck for the future Android version because from Android 13 the memory size rises to 2GB.

From the other update of Kyle Bradshaw, this device has just passed through the Bluetooth SIG, dubbed simply “Google Chromecast.” The expected cost for this new device is $30.
