Back in August, Samsung rolled out the latest software-based One UI 4.1.1 and One UI 5.0 updates, and then the company released a new software update that brings some bug fixes and more. The Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20 Plus, and Galaxy S20 Ultra users are still waiting for the One UI 5.0 based on the Android 13 update. The company didn’t reveal a single detail about this update, but we hope that Samsung will soon roll out the Android 13 update for its beloved Galaxy S20 series owners.
Today, Samsung rolled out a September 2022 security patch update to its two recent flagships called Galaxy S21 and the Galaxy S22 series. At this time, Galaxy S20 also grabbed this opportunity. Currently, this update is available for German users and we expect Galaxy S20 units in other European countries and other parts of the world to get the update soon.
The latest software update for the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+, and the Galaxy S20 Ultra come with firmware version G985FXXSFFVHA for LTE variant. For the 5G variants of these smartphones, the update bears firmware version G986BXXSFFVHA.
According to Samsung’s September 2022, security patch details brings bring 21 high levels of CVEs and 3 moderate levels and also fixes 24 vulnerabilities found in Samsung smartphones and tablets.
Note: Before upgrading to the latest version make sure your smartphone is connected with a proper internet connection, we recommend you to download it over WIFI so that you will not face any errors.
How To Update:
- Using two fingers, swipe down from the top of the screen, and then tap the Settings icon.
- Swipe to and then tap Software update or System updates. It will vary between models.
- Tap Download and install, or Check for system updates. If an update is available it should begin downloading automatically, although you may need to tap Download now on some devices.
- When the download is complete, follow the on-screen instructions to install the update.
