Samsung new UDC patent hints safe facial recognition

Samsung has released a new patent for facial recognition. According to the latest report, the patent was filed last year, the key highlight of the patent detail is while facial recognition the face expression will be captured and scanned via multiple angles.

For your information, this patent was filed before the Galaxy Z Fold 3 launched. Now, the Korean tech firm finally published it on September 22, 2022.

As per the document, the dual-UDC setup would be able of measuring the user’s pupils for improved biometric security.

Samsung is looking for a change and if we recall, the first Galaxy phone to use Samsung’s Under-Display camera was the Galaxy Z Fold 3 but it only contains a 4MP sensor so the scanning process is not that good. Hope this patent will come true and we will see a better UDC facial recognition device by Samsung in the coming years.
