I have been a happy Pixel 5 owner for several months now. My Android Auto connection was always unreliable (would frequently disconnect/reconnect) but I figured it was a cable issue. A few months ago I experienced a noticeable drop in battery performance and again assumed it was due to normal wear and tear. Then I upgraded to Android 13 and was experiencing thermal issues when using certain apps.

I read that turning the adaptive battery off may remedy the Android Auto problem, so I gave it a shot and viola, looks like it solved all my problems at once. Battery life is back to great, no more thermal issues, and Android Auto works great. Try turning the adaptive battery off if you’re having similar issues to see if that helps!
