Google Photos getting carousel effects

As we reported in late June, Google Photos was rolling out a new effects carousel, which would be available in the context menu under Photos. It used to show you a selection of effects, and clicking on one of the results would open a full-screen interface with a gallery where you can take a closer look at the results and apply suggested effects.

Now, effects use icon cards instead of photos. Clicking on one of them opens the Google Photos editor with the effects already applied. This change was discovered in version 6.9.0 of the app and has not yet been rolled out to end users.
