Google releases iOS 16 Lock Screen widgets with Maps and Search

Last month, Apple launched its latest flagship iPhone 14 which comes with iOS 16 which is based on the Android 13 version. This phone brought amazing features like Car crash alerts and sending Emergency SOS. Now, Google completes the iOS 16 Lock Screen widgets with the Maps and Search for around six updated iPhone applications.

Google Maps version 6.40 brings iOS 16 Lock Screen widgets. Now the “Search” feature opens the app where you need a keyboard and ask ready for input. The Frequent Trips could be increases the performance it depends on the updates of it and notes of the location, ETA, and traffic conditions.

  • Frequent Trips: Get directions and an estimated arrival time for your regular trips.
  • Search: Search in Google Maps for restaurants, gas stations, and more.

On the other hand, this Google app contains five widgets with sizes (1×1 and 2×1) for Search. The widgets are the size of 1×1 and it also depends on which lens is used there.

  • Search: Access Google Search from your Lock Screen.
  • Voice Search: Ask a question, hum a song, or search for content with your voice.
  • Lens: Search with your camera or any image.
  • Lens Shortcuts: Easily access your favorite Lens feature. Translate, shop, or solve homework with your camera.

From the functioning of these Google Search, Lock Screen widgets are similar to Siri. Maps and Search join Gmail, News, Drive, and Chrome as the first wave of Google apps with iOS Lock Screen widgets.

Lastly, when you update your phone you need to launch every app, and then only it appears in the Lock screen editor.
