With Pixel 6 and Pixel 7 AirPods Pro 2 won’t fully supported

Apple launched its latest flagship iPhone 14 Series on 9 September 2022 along with the Apple Watch Series 8, and AirPods Pro 2. AirPods Pro 2 comes with amazing features like double noise cancellation, Adaptive Transparency, and new touch controls that allow users to swipe up and down to adjust call quality. As per past user experiences, AirPods support Android phones. Now, the new AirPods Pro 2 won’t be compatible with Pixel phones because of the A2DP offloading.

The issue with the AirPods Pro 2 breaking the audio output and in the audio playback, it stops after 90 seconds.  Once the audio stops, the AirPods stay connected but playback stops. For playing the track again, you need to disconnect and reconnect the AirPods. After it will work for another 90 seconds and again its audio sound starts breaking.

Pixel users complain that this AorPods Pro 2 is not compatible with their phone. There have been plenty of reports on the Google Pixel subreddit of this issue.

For now, temporarily fix by enabling Disable Bluetooth A2DP hardware offload in Developer Options. To solve this issue permanently need to developer enabled this setting. It also lowers audio quality through the earbuds. A2DP hardware offload moves the audio decoding from the phone to the earbuds which helps with compression and quality.

The main cause of this issue don’t know yet but probably some of Google’s implementation of A2DP hardware offloading or something with the AirPods Pro 2. If it is an issue with AirPods Pro 2, Pixel users will have an issue getting the update installed because updating AirPods does require an Apple product.

Finally, on Pixel phones, Google will provide a solution for this till then disabling Bluetooth A2DP and using AirPods Pro 2 on your device.
