[U: Google Responded] Google Pixel Watch first burn issue spotted

Oct 21/2022

After the screen burn issue is on surfaced, many users also reported the same problem and now Google officially stated that and told that the Pixel Watch does not suffer from screen burn-in, this is just image retention. See full statement of Google:

What you are seeing is image retention. It is a non-permanent issue that affects OLED displays. It is not a precursor to burn-in and should not be confused with burn-in. The image retention will go away but the longer it is on the screen the longer it will take to go away. The Google Pixel Watch uses a software algorithm to shift the brightness of lit pixels every minute to reduce the possibility of image retention. This prolongs the time before image retention is seen and reduces the time for the image to disappear. If users do experience this, it will go away over time, but users can also turn off AOD and/or use bedtime mode for sleep so the screen stays off overnight.

Google recently introduced its first smartwatch, the Pixel Watch, alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. After its launch, Google also made many apps available for Pixel Watch on Wear OS. After its launch, people liked the design of this watch very much and its sales have also been good. Some people described this watch as better than the watch of the Samsung Galaxy series. The Pixel Watch has an eye-catching design and includes a slew of features.

Till now not a single issue with the Pixel Watch was revealed but today Twitter user Brandon Lee shared a tweet and said that he has been using the Pixel Watch for the last 1 week and he says that now it looks like Pixel Watch is burning. He also said to look at where the heart rate complication is and how it shows up in the pill of the app list.

Brandon Lee says that this issue is not bothering him too much right now, but he shared this news so that we all should know.

Brandon Lee Said: We will see how things develop in the long term. Depending on how bad it gets or it might stay a little mild like this, it might start bothering me. I didn’t expect it after a week. I HAVE had AoD on, so I’m going to turn it off to see if things change. Perhaps it is only retention. I have mainly used this watch face but have definitely used others throughout the week. If anything, this is more of a reason to avoid the AoD outside of increased battery life.
