The Steam Deck is an AMD Zen 2 APU-based portable gaming console with four cores capable of handling eight threads, all associated with eight RDNA 2 compute units.

With a base clock speed of 2.4GHz and boost speeds of up to 3.5GHz, it is capable of playing desktop PC games at relatively low resolutions and acceptable frame rates. There is no special hack for the whole operation, and Steam Deck itself has a working Arch Linux desktop environment.

The delayed animation is most likely because the user has not activated any GPU acceleration. It is unclear whether this is possible.
