Google One’ slick homescreen redesign and YouTube Shorts will not showing in the Videos tab

Google One and YouTube Shorts

Nowadays, most of the data is over the cloud. So, Google offers Google One which also does the same thing. This means it’s a monthly subscription service that gives online cloud storage. Now, the Android app receives a homescreen redesign that enables users to see more details in one view. In this redesign the Home tab with a graphic and time-of-day greeting up top. The main change today is a 2×2 grid of cards that starts with a look at your Google One storage.

The previous design changed to the circular design which is like a linear progress indicator that appeared lower in the feed, while also giving you a percentage. “Backup” status with your current device’s most recent one is next, and that’s followed by a “Clean up” card that shows how much space you can regain. As per the redesign, the Google One VPN card is not showing on the feed but is still on that page.

YouTube releases a publish a good update in that now Shorts will not same tab of the Videos on Channel pages. YouTube’s Shorts push has seen the short-form format appear everywhere across the service. After hearing “feedback,” YouTube is now rolling out separate tabs for videos, live streams, and Shorts instead of all content appearing in the same “Videos” tab. That combined default behavior, YouTube added filters that weren’t sticky, which was horrible for littering the feed with vertical thumbnails that had short titles and “#shorts” as brands flocked to the format. Regular videos got crowded out, and scrolling became quite annoying.

We’ve heard that this will make it easier for viewers to discover the kinds of content they’re most interested in when exploring a creator’s channel page, so we’re excited to bring this to you all!

Finally, from now on the user will also add a filter to Recently uploaded and Popular. This change will available to all in a couple of weeks.
