Previously, there is no particular method to install the firmware. So it is installed on the air when the AirPods are connected to an iOS device. Putting the AirPods in the case, connecting the AirPods to a power source, and then pairing the AirPods to an iPhone or an iPad should force the update after a short period.
With the below steps, you can check the firmware details:
- Connect your AirPods or AirPods Pro to your iOS device.
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap General.
- Tap About.
- Tap AirPods.
In this new firmware users only can do bug fixes which enhances the performance of the AirPods 2. Apple also brings new firmware for the AirTag item trackers. This update upgrades the April firmware 1A301 with the new build number 2A24e.
Currently, there is no release note about this update so not know about further details. To make sure the update happens, you can put your AirTag in range of your iPhone, but you have to wait for the firmware to roll out to your device.
