Google and Spotify start testing User Choice Billing on Android

From this March Google planned to provide a billing system to Android users. Now, the collaboration of Google and Spotify brings a new app purchasing experience to developers and end-users. In March this Dubbed User Choice Billing(UCB) app was declared as the pilot program. Now, this program comes to the user in the selected country. Now on Android phone user have two payment options for their subscription.

One payment option is from the Spotify system, those users who already use this app know it. The other option is from a Google Play account. If users want to subscribe new service from Spotify then both option displays when they need to payment.

This app was referred to as a pilot program, It mainly makes available users secondary payment options for in-app purchases. Spotify made the first debut, Google says the pilot program is functional and more apps are allowed to join the program. The dating app Bumble is a recent addition to the UCB program. In a blog post-Google mentioned this app.

The companies expect Bumble to roll out its implementation in the coming months. Developers have to bear in mind that currently, only non-gaming apps are allowed to join the program. Google intends to share details about the eligibility, requirements, and interim UX guidelines for the non-gaming Android apps to enroll. The UBC pilot was set to initially roll out in select countries, including Australia, India, Indonesia, Japan, and the European Economic Area.

Finally, with this collaboration users have an alternative option for payment for in-app purchases.
