Gary Illyes: 60% of the content on the Internet is duplicate

Recently there was a Google Search Central live event in Singapore, in which Google webmaster trend analyst Gary Elias said that 60% of the content on the Internet is duplicate.

Google stated that “Duplicate content generally refers to substantive blocks of content, within or across domains, that either exactly matches or are clearly similar to other content.”
