Blizzard provides additional information regarding the Diablo franchise’s first paid battle pass. Diablo IV will have a paid fight pass supplemented by an alternating occasional design of content. Blizzard has said that there won’t be a season for Diablo IV. Instead, season 1 will come out weeks after the game comes out in June 2023. So that players will not have an advantage over others due to early access pre-order bonuses.

The battle pass will be valid throughout the season. Since that season lasts for three months, you’ll have plenty of time to complete the battle pass. That will not be a problem for active players. “You won’t run out of time,” stated game director Joe Shely.
- Players will “start fresh” with each Diablo IV season, following the ladder structure of Diablo II.
- Season passes will last three months at a time
- Each season will have its season pass.
- Battle passes are only for cosmetic purposes; they do not have power.
- Players can earn battle pass XP from regular in-game activities.
- Battle passes and season passes will carry over to other platforms (buy on Xbox, can still access battle pass progress on PC).
- Battle passes will take about 75 hours to complete.
- Players are not expected to play every.
Fortunately, players will not be required to complete specific battle pass objectives to advance. Joseph Piepiora, the associate game director for Diablo IV, explains:
“You’ll be earning progress by completing content in the season journey, but you’ll also be earning progress by killing monsters, exploring dungeons, and completing quests—everything you do will be gradually earning progress toward your battle pass.”
Adam Fletcher, the Diablo community lead, stated, “The season journey is an opportunity for people who don’t even have the battle pass to go through and have something similar to what they experienced in Diablo III in terms of earning things and so forth.”

Lastly, Diablo IV deliveries on June 6, 2023, for PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, complete with lounge chair center play on consoles.
