What is new in this update?

Google Chrome v110 will be the main rendition of the world’s most famous program to change to another delivery plan. Now, new versions of Chrome are first made available to users in the canary channel before moving on to the dev, beta, and stable release channels. All of these users can choose to join.

Google will extend that release schedule with Chrome 110 to include a new “early stable” release, which provides users with the most recent version of Chrome a week before the full release.

The stable release of Chrome 110 has been pushed back to February 7, 2023, rather than the originally scheduled February 1. This will not be a new opt-in release channel; rather, it will be a release schedule that will affect stable update channel members.

The update will be available one week earlier to a small percentage of general Chrome users. This is probably a larger percentage than those who have chosen to join the beta release channel. As Kyle Bradshaw points out, Google is simply targeting a different segment of Chrome’s user base.

Google announces the following release schedule for the initial release:

  • Beta: January 12, 2023
  • Early Stable: February 1, 2023
  • Stable: February 7, 2023

The purpose of this adjustment to its release schedule is to monitor the release before it is made available to the general public.

Lastly, before the widespread release, this small number of users will serve as Google’s “canary in the coal mine” for any “showstopping” issues.
