Samsung: Flagship is sluggish, only low-end models are doing well

Although Samsung Electronics’ 5G-enabled and foldable smartphones saw an increase in shipments this year, the average selling price (ASP) only slightly increased.

The reason is that sales of Galaxy A, increased rapidly while sales of the flagship (top-end model) series. The highest price among Samsung Electronics’ smartphone lineup, were sluggish due to software controversy.

“Galaxy has a strong flagship image in Korea, but the perception is different in overseas markets,” said an industry insider. Samsung must therefore increase its efforts in overseas markets.
