Here’s a look at the Android 13 Partial Screen Sharing feature

Here’s a look at the “partial screen sharing” feature in Android 13 that we previously told y’all about. There’s a dropdown toggle in the screen recorder dialog that lets you record the entire screen or record a single app. This UI might change in the future, though.

Select “record a single app” and you’re given an app selector with preview thumbnails for apps you’ve recently opened. Tapping on a thumbnail then launches the app and starts a screen recording that’s limited to that app’s view instead of the entire screen.

As for why it says “share or record”, it might be related to the companion app streaming feature that has yet to launch. For more context on this partial screen-sharing feature, refer to this section of a previous blog post I wrote (or look through my QPR1/QPR2 beta tweet threads).
