PDF drawing and highlighting are being added to Google Drive for Android

Google Drive’s new Android annotation tools, which were first announced last month as a quick way to draw on and highlight PDFs, are now available.

A new pen FAB will appear in the bottom-right corner of your screen when you open a PDF in Google Drive for Android. On smartphones, tapping opens a toolbar that can be found at the bottom of your screen. It can also be dragged to the top, whereas landscape tablets place the pill on the right by default, allowing it to be moved to the left.

A pen tool with stroke widths ranging from 8 to 40 pixels is available in red, black, blue, and green. The highlighter is available in purple, blue, green, and yellow. You can undo, redo, and hide all marks with the eraser, which also removes entire strokes.

Drawings created on the original PDF can be saved, and the save as copy option is available in the overflow menu.
