Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5’s crazy performance uncovered

The Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 should be unveiled by Samsung in five to six months. As we speak, the company is working on these two brand-new foldable phones. Additionally, a recent online benchmark revealed that both devices outperform the Galaxy S23 Ultra in terms of performance.

The benchmark demonstrates that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 “for Galaxy” chipset that powers the Galaxy Z Fold 5 (SM-F946U) and Z Flip 5 (SM-F731U) is also used in the Galaxy S23 series. This chipset has a higher frequency of 3.36GHz for the primary “super” core as opposed to 3.2GHz.

However, despite having comparable hardware, the upcoming foldables 5 series outperform the Galaxy S23 Ultra, particularly in terms of the single-core tests in this benchmark.

The performance of Samsung’s upcoming foldable phones is new:

Even though they all use the same SoC, these early online performance tests show that the Galaxy Z foldables 5 series will perform better than Samsung’s best-ever flagship phone. Samsung’s upcoming foldables use the overclocked “for Galaxy” chipset rather than the “Plus” version of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 instead.

Galaxy Z Flip 5

The Galaxy Z foldables 5 series achieved 5,213 and 5,022 multi-core scores, respectively, in single-core tests, with the flip phone outperforming the book-like foldable in the latter category. The Fold 5 has 12GB of RAM, while the Z Flip 5 has 8GB, as confirmed by the benchmark.
