Android Auto’s Coolwalk feature enables users to see multiple apps on the same screen side-by-side. Now this feature of Android Auto come to Waze. Meanwhile, they purposely turn off voice commands on Android Auto.
Waze also has several operations which control with voice commands like setting a navigation destination. For example, enable the Assistant and set commands like navigate to Times Square which sends you the destination.
From now on it may be possible this navigation command won’t work. Waze’s last week update said that they are intentional at the moment only voice commands included. This update informed many Waze users through customer support channels.

I looked into your report and found that what you described is actually how Google Assistant in Waze on Android Auto is currently intended to work.
“Drive home” and “Drive to work” are the only voice commands available in Waze on Android Auto at the moment. Our developers are working on implementing full Google Assistant functionality.
