[U: Officially Announced] Android 14 beta will be available soon for Nothing Phone (1)

May 11/2023: Nothing officially announced the launch of its developer preview program.

The known problems are as follows:

  • Fingerprints cannot be registered
  • Face unlock is not available
  • Glyph functionality is not available
  • battery sharing not available
  • No portrait mode or slow-mo features in the camera app
  • No pre-installed Nothing weather and Nothing X apps
  • Screen casting to TV connection is not available.

April 28/2023: In the Nothing Phone lineup, there is only a single device that is now to get Android 14 Beta 1 in the coming weeks and it’s Nothing Phone 1. For now, the timeline is now available but the update is confirmed.

For now, the Pixel devices are getting Android 14 Beta to eligible devices, the Nothing Phone (1) will be among the first non-Google devices to get an independent preview phase. Other OEMs are yet to confirm and Google is set to introduce the new features at Google I/O on May 10.

As per the Google track record, the previous Android 13 Beta 1 and Android 14 Beta 1 updates were rolled out timely. Nothing OS 1.5 based on Android 13 has been available for all Phone (1) units since mid-February.
