Android Auto receiving a Weather Channel app, multiple in-car displays and more

Now the Weather Channel app, Zoom support, and Microsoft Teams come to Android Auto. Google declares that adding new features to Android Auto like big news services and in car-experience projected from your Android smartphone. Bring more app as IoT and weather apps.

Home Assistant will soon come to Android Auto and they plan to bring smart home support. At the beginning of this year, Weather and Radar’s first weather app was included in Android just like the Weather Channel also come to Android Auto. The release date and how it works is not announced yet but will come later this year.

The company is plan to bring the conference support to Android Auto with Zoom, Microsoft Teams, and Cisco WebEx. With this users can answer the conference call or meeting.

Android Automotive OS 14 will allow multiple in-car displays and a YouTube app

With the Android 14 upgrade Google’s Android Automotive OS coming to more cars, this feature enables multiple displays in a car. At Google I/O 2023, they announced that Android Auto will receive the YouTube app for Polestar and Volvo cars and all car makers.

YouTube is now available for car makers to offer in cars with Google built-in. Select partners, including Polestar and Volvo Cars, have committed to bringing this experience to their cars via over-the-air software updates. So you’ll be able to easily watch your favorite videos if you’re, say, waiting for curbside pickup.

Including the YouTube app in Android Auto is a part of the including video apps like adding gaming apps and internet browsers. In addition, GameSnacks will come to Android Auto also.

With these multiple displays along with the driver passengers also can watch the video or movie. The mirror video content feature allows the user to see movies on the backseat displays along with the central instrument cluster. This feature also allows passengers in helping with navigation with a display in front of them.

Currently, Chevrolet, Renault, Volvo, Honda, and Polestar cars include Google Android Automotive OS feature with Google built-in.
