Google Home app will support Nest cam legacy and get Matter for iOS

Now Google Home App is receiving older Nest Cams with new models. In 2021, Google first time added new hardware devices which support the Google Home app and not previous devices.

In starting of July this update will live, with this user getting a transfer option that switches Nest cams to the Google Home app available in particular models. For this update, the Cam Indoor (1st Gen) and Nest Cam Outdoor(1st Gen) are in line. At I/O 2023, they declared that the Google Home app launched at the beginning of this week.

Google Home app for iOS is receiving Matter support

Last year Google released the Matter to the Google Home app for Android now they bring Matter support to the Google Home app for iOS. In the coming days, the Google Home app for iOS will set up and control Matter devices.

This Matter support is available in th iOS 16.5 which release next week.

We’re now expanding Matter support in the Home app to iOS. In the coming weeks, with iOS 16.5, you’ll be able to set up and control your Matter devices in the Google Home app on iOS devices.

Now Google Home app can control devices and any additional apps. Without any additional downloads and accounts user can set up and control the device fully from the Home app.
