Including an IR temperature sensor in the Pixel 8 Pro is Google-y. In their previous devices, they also brought strange hardware. For shrinking to launch Assistant there was Active Edge on the Pixel 2 and Pixel 3, on the other hand, phones provided a second front-facing camera with 97-degree FOV for wide-angle shots.
The design of the Pixel 8 Pro is not that different from what Google offered in the previous generation. With this sensor’s addition, there are no downsides to capacity. Lastly, at I/O 2023, the company explains these features are Pixel Call Assist, Pixel Speech, Pixel Safe, and Pixel Camera which are also based on health concerns and include a temperature sensor also.
