Fitbit and Versa 4

Fitbit, in conjunction with the recent Pixel Feature Drop, has unveiled a range of new features for its existing smartwatches and trackers. Notably, the Sense 2 and Versa 4 update introduces Dynamic GPS support.

Similar to the Charge 4 and 5 models, Fitbit’s Sense 2 and Versa 4 now offer the ability to utilize the GPS sensors on users’ phones for capturing GPS data, rather than relying solely on the built-in GPS sensors of the wearable devices. This feature effectively conserves the battery life of the Fitbit devices, unlike the Pixel Watch which solely supports built-in GPS functionality.

Fitbit has implemented three GPS modes across its devices, catering to diverse user preferences:

Additionally, Fitbit has introduced a convenient feature that allows users to swap between saved clock faces by simply pressing and holding their finger on the current clock face, eliminating the need to access the app. However, it is important to note that the companion client is still necessary for incorporating new tiles related to Menstrual Health and Readiness, which require a Fitbit Premium subscription.

Lastly, version 194.61 of the Fitbit software update introduces support for global characters and right-to-left text in languages such as Hindi, Arabic, Vietnamese, and others. The update also includes general bug fixes and improvements to enhance the overall user experience.
