OnePlus, the renowned smartphone manufacturer, is gearing up to introduce its inaugural foldable smartphone in a little over a month, and it appears that this highly anticipated device might bear the name “OnePlus Open.”
Max Jambor, a reputable source in the tech industry, shared this morning via Twitter the alleged moniker for the forthcoming OnePlus foldable device. Surprisingly, “Open” is a name that has not been previously associated with this product, as it had been previously referred to as the “OnePlus V Fold.”

Earlier this year, the name “OnePlus V Fold” had surfaced through a leak from a regulatory agency. However, there has been minimal discussion surrounding this name in recent times. Although the name “OnePlus V Fold” aligned with Samsung’s “Galaxy Z Fold” branding, it seems that OnePlus is striving to venture into uncharted territory.
The choice of “OnePlus Open” as a potential name deviates from conventional expectations, and personally, I harbor some reservations. While utilizing a verb as the identifier for a smartphone may be somewhat contextual, it still feels unconventional. Nevertheless, it seems that this could indeed be the case, and one could argue that it could have been worse.
Irrespective of its official name, the upcoming OnePlus foldable smartphone is projected to boast an expansive nearly 8-inch display, the cutting-edge Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, an impressive 16GB of RAM, and other impressive specifications. With its impressive lineup of features, this device is poised to deliver an unparalleled user experience.
