Microsoft Edge browser supports dual-engine simultaneous search function

Mikhail Parakhin, CEO of Microsoft’s advertising and network services division, recently revealed a hidden feature of Microsoft’s Edge browser: dual-engine simultaneous search. This feature allows users to search using two search engines simultaneously. This feature automatically switches search engines based on the user’s default settings.

To put it simply, if your default search engine is Bing, after searching in Bing, just click the search button in the upper right corner to see search results from alternative engines such as Google, making it easy to compare and choose.

Interface clutter: Some users find that the arrangement of the search bar and icons is too complicated and hope that a simpler design can be used to reduce clutter. In this regard, Parakhin hinted that the option to select a default backup search engine may be introduced in the future, thereby alleviating user concerns about automatic switching.

Customization restrictions: Currently users cannot resize the sidebar, which is where the alternate search engine options are placed. Parakhin explained that the width of the sidebar is currently determined by application and mobile UX standards and is unlikely to be adjusted in the short term.
