Apple today released macOS Big Sur 11.4, which is the fourth major update of the macOS Big Sur operating system launched in November 2020. macOS Big Sur was released one month after the release of macOS Big Sur 11.3. This update adds the optimization of the M1 processor and the integration of AirTag.

The new macOS Big Sur 11.4 update can be downloaded for free on all eligible Macs through the software update section of the system preferences interface. macOS Big Sur 11.4 lays the foundation for the two upcoming Apple Music features.

With Dolby Atmos spatial audio and lossless audio, these two functions will be available on the Mac. It also adds support for Apple Podcasts subscriptions and fixes some bugs, as stated in Apple’s release notes:
