Apex Legends Mobile starts closed beta today and only supports the Android platform for the time being

According to EA’s official announcement, its FPS battle royale game Apex Legends mobile game launched a small-scale regional beta test in India on April 28. It is reported that the official tentative decision is to open only Android testing, and the subsequent internal testing will continue in the Philippines in late May. At that time, users who have made an appointment and obtained the test qualification will be notified.

It is worth mentioning that the mobile game version cannot be connected to the console and PC cross-platform, and adopts a free game, dress up and props payment model, and has an exclusive pass for the mobile game. After the test is started, it can only be downloaded by pre-registered users of the Google Store in India, and users who download and register first have a chance to qualify for the test. The quota is limited and first come first served.

The game director of Apex Legends stated that “Apex Legends Mobile” is specially designed for touch screens. Its streamlined controls and thoughtful optimization have created the most advanced battle royale battle on mobile phones. It is a new version of Apex Legends, but it is faithful to the original version.

The mobile version looks similar to the existing versions of the PC and console, at least from the current few early screenshots, but EA has not yet shown the controls and game interface. The announcement pointed out that the game will be free-to-play like other platforms, but does not support cross-platform online battles with PCs or consoles. In addition, EA plans to provide support for iOS in the future and add more regions in further testing.
