Microsoft has given up its own mobile platform because the company has decided to adopt Android with the debut of Surface Duo. In terms of mobile phones, Windows shows no signs of going back to the old path in this regard. This is obviously bad news for fans of Windows Phone and Windows 10 Mobile, but Microsoft is now clearly an Android software development company, and from the current situation, this strategy will not change soon.
The new Surface Duo is already in development, and it is expected that there will be important upgrades later this year, including a new three-camera module, which will enable the device to better compete with other flagships on the market, not only in terms of productivity. On the one hand, the same is true in terms of photo quality.
But at the same time, this does not necessarily mean that Windows 10 Mobile fans have stopped dreaming that Microsoft will return to the mobile operating system war and compete with Google and Apple, just as it should have done at one time.
Many people think that the arrival of Windows 11 is the right time for Microsoft to do so. Although the whole thing has no chance to happen at all, it still has enough reasons for the most talented designers to put forward their own concepts in this regard. Everything feels modern and optimized for mobile screens, just like the Windows 11 version of a smartphone should feel. Microsoft itself once worked on this, but in the end, like other parts of the operating system, for various reasons, especially the developers of third-party applications are not interested in it.
Although Windows 11 is meaningful to some people in the mobile field, Microsoft has no reason to return to this market because the company is currently doing its mobile strategy entirely around Android.
