Kristofpetho said that he stopped the development of the OnePlus 9 Pro with a heavy heart for the following reasons:

  • Since August 2021, the official kernel source code of the OnePlus 9 Pro has not been updated
  • OPPO’s kernel source code update is bad, and incomplete source code will be released
  • If the kernel source code is not available or missing, the development of the A12 version will be difficult

The Omega kernel of the OnePlus 9 Pro was last updated in September, and it has not been updated for nearly three months. Then the developer announced the news.

The OnePlus 9/Pro overseas version launched the official version of OxygenOS 12 based on Android 12 on December 7. However, a large number of users subsequently complained that there were many bugs in this version of the system, which affected the user experience. OnePlus officials have confirmed that it will suspend the push of OxygenOS 12 to OnePlus 9/Pro until the bugs found so far are fixed.
