After even starting with the first security patches of February 2022, even anticipating Google, Samsung has decided to close the month of January by releasing new updates for its other smartphones and tablets: we are talking about Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, Galaxy S21 Ultra, Galaxy A50, Galaxy A50s, Galaxy Z Flip, Galaxy Z Flip 5G, Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+. Let’s find out together what news awaits us.
New update Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra
New update in distribution for Samsung Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and Galaxy S21 Ultra, as (almost) always starting from non-brand models. The security patches remain those of January 2022, so it is probably just an update with some bug fixes and stability improvements, as the changelog states.
The firmware distributed in Italy is G99 * BXXU4BVA9 and does not seem to include new features. We remind you that One UI 4.1 should arrive in the coming months: we do not yet know if the latter will be available from the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S22, but we are sure that it will include several interesting new features.
New updates Samsung Galaxy A50 and Galaxy A50s
Samsung Galaxy A50 is updated with the security patches of January 2022. The mid-range smartphone launched almost three years ago is in fact welcoming the A505FNXXS9CVA3 firmware, which includes 43 security fixes for Android plus another 19 directly from Samsung. The weight of the new update currently being distributed in Europe is about 150 MB, so there shouldn’t be any other important news.
Samsung Galaxy A50s is also updated, which is starting to receive the security patches of February 2022: in this case, the firmware is the A507FNXXU6DVA2 and is always based on Android 11 ( Android 12 is not provided). As we are pretty early on the schedule, we still don’t know which vulnerabilities have been fixed with the latest patches; we will know more in the first days of next month.
New updates Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Z Flip 5G
Samsung Galaxy Z Flip and Z Flip 5G are also updated with the security patches of January 2022. The foldable smartphones, which have already received Android 12 as of the end of December 2021, are welcoming the firmware F700FXXS8FVA1 and F707BXXU6FVA9. The latter requires a download of almost 800 MB, so there should be more news inside (the changelog speaks only of general improvements instability).
New updates Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+
We close the new series of updates with the Samsung Galaxy Tab S7 and Galaxy Tab S7+ tablets, which are currently receiving the security patches of January 2022. The firmware is the T97 * XXU2CVA5 and requires a download of about 250 MB: between What’s new, in addition to this month’s vulnerability fixes, we also have generic stability refinements. We remind you that the two tablets of the South Korean manufacturer have already received Android 12 for a few weeks.

In case you haven’t been able to find the update, don’t despair: it might be enough to wait a few more hours.
