Google fixes Wear OS voice assistant wakeup failure

Google’s WearOS system developed for smartwatches has previously encountered a malfunction, and some users cannot wake up when they use the “OK Google” password to summon Google’s voice assistant. Google said in February this year, “It has already noticed the problems encountered by some users and will work with OEMs to jointly improve the Wear OS experience.”

According to foreign media XDA news, several months after this problem appeared, Google finally launched the Wear OS system update. Reddit user @game1385 first discovered this update on a smartwatch from OPPO.

According to the video, after the system is updated, the voice command “OK Google” can be used to summon Google’s voice assistant smoothly, and the dialogue problem has also been successfully fixed. Previously, many Wear OS users could only summon the voice assistant by long-pressing the button on the side of the watch, and the interactive function would occasionally fail.

The latest Wear OS version is 12.8.4.25. According to foreign media reports, TicWatch Pro 3, Fossil Gen 5 and other bracelets have already pushed updates.
