Specifically, in terms of supporting 700MHz, China Mobile requires that from March 1, 2021, 4000 Terminals of RMB yuan and above must be supported; from October 1, 2021, all new terminals must be supported. In terms of supporting VoNR, from October 1, 2021, all new terminals must be supported.
It is not allowed to set the VoNR switch in the user interface; it supports turning on VoNR accurately by region, and it is recommended to use China Mobile’s smart terminal capability configuration technology.

On March 11, Zhang Guoquan, director of Xiaomi’s mobile phone system software department, stated on Weibo that VoNR is to use 5G networks to make voice calls directly, but now that operators are not on VoNR, even if they register for 5G, voice calls will fall back to 4G. For mobile phones, VoNR is a pure software concept. As long as the network is deployed, the software upgrade can support it .
Zhang Guoquan finally stated that if the operator’s network is completed, several projects of Xiaomi’s Snapdragon 870 (K40/MI10S) will definitely support VoNR in the future. The maintenance cycle of Xiaomi phones will still stand the test of time.
