Linux Edge gets synchronization feature

At present, Microsoft has launched a stable version of the Edge browser on Windows and macOS platforms, but it is still in the preview stage on the Linux platform. However, the Edge browser on Linux is following up very quickly. This week, Microsoft announced that Linux users can now synchronize their favorites in the browser.

To synchronize favorites, users need to log in to a Microsoft account and need to enable the MSA sign-in Flag to take effect. Microsoft wrote in this week’s announcement: “The Edge browser on Linux can now log in with your Microsoft account, and then synchronize favorites, passwords, extensions, etc. Insider members, I hope to hear your comments on the new experience Feedback”.

It is worth noting that AAD accounts are not currently supported. After the user provides the Microsoft credentials, he can configure the synchronization feature and decide which devices to synchronize across devices. Currently, favorites, passwords, and other browser data are supported.

The synchronization process will not take more than a few seconds. When you click on your profile icon in the browser’s user interface, you should see whether the synchronization feature is enabled. The new features are only available in Microsoft Edge Dev 91.0.831.x, so if you want to try it out, please make sure you update to this version.
