Apple has just released the fifth beta test version of tvOS 14.5, but MacRumors user Steve Moser also discovered some minor but noteworthy name changes. First, Apple removed the so-called “Siri remote control” and named it “Apple TV remote control.” Even the market areas where Siri functions were previously available are now unified under the latter name.
MacRumors pointed out that this implies that the naming of the next-generation Apple TV remote will be further streamlined and unified. Rumors have it that Apple is developing a new Apple TV that will be available later this year. It is said that the device will come with a new remote control that supports the “Find My” search function, but no more details are currently known.
Secondly, tvOS 14.5 Beta 5 renamed the “Home Button” under the “Remote Control and Devices” page to ” TV Button”, but the functions of the two have not been changed (it can be set to jump to the Apple TV app or home screen).

In addition, in the previous test version, tvOS has introduced support for Sony/ Microsoft’s new console controllers. But now, we found that tvOS has also modified the frame rate value label under the “Other Formats” page, changing 30Hz / 60Hz to 29.97Hz / 59.94Hz.
Finally, Apple TV can also selectively enable the “Type to Siri” accessibility feature, which is exactly the same as the “Type to Siri” feature on iOS devices.
