In the latest preview version, Microsoft has upgraded the icons for multiple options in the file manager. If you also want to upgrade these icons without upgrading the existing system, here is a safe and simple way.
The good-hearted people of MSFTNext have extracted the icons from Shell32 and Imageres and made them available to everyone to download, so you can now easily download these icons and use them to customize your folder. Not all applications and folders can have alternate icons, but shortcuts can be easily changed.

To upgrade the icon, the steps are as follows:
- Download and unzip the icon set.
- Right-click on the shortcut you want to change.
- Select properties.
- Select the change icon.
- Browse to the previously unzipped file path.
