Apple announced today that it will expand its independent repairer program to more than 200 countries and regions, covering almost all countries and regions where Apple products are sold. Apple’s independent repairer program was first launched in 2019 to provide repair shops with the opportunity to obtain genuine parts, tools, repair manuals, and diagnostic programs to perform out-of-warranty repairs on Apple devices.
Repairers of all sizes, including those who are not authorized by Apple, can obtain Apple’s genuine parts and repair manuals to provide “safe and reliable repairs” for Apple products. Apple provides independent repair shops with the same free training and tools as AASP (Apple Authorized Service Provider) and Apple retail stores.
According to Apple, there are currently more than 1,500 independent repairers in the United States, Canada and Europe. There is no cost to join the program, but the repair provider must have an Apple-certified technician to perform repairs.

Apple said that the certification process is “very simple” and free. When employees become certified technicians, qualified repair providers can purchase Apple original parts and tools at the same price as AASP.
Starting later this week, Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Brazil, Brunei, Cambodia, Cook Islands, Fiji, Guam, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Japan, South Korea, Laos, Macau, China, Malaysia, Maldives, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Philippines, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, South Africa, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, Thailand, Tonga, Turkey, UAE, Vanuatu and Vietnam.
