Microsoft Win10 21H2 Sun Valley will get new personalized settings

According to the Windows Latest report, the next major feature update of Microsoft Windows 10 will arrive sometime in October or November this year. The spring update will not make any major changes to the operating system. Microsoft is already testing the new “Sun Valley UI” interface adjustments for Windows 10 21H2, and some changes are now live in the preview version.

Desktop Spotlight Wallpaper

The latest preview build finally includes support for “Windows Spotlight (desktop focus)”, which is a feature that can display Bing wallpapers on the desktop. When you select the “Spotlight” option on the personalized page, your desktop will display beautiful images, similar to what Bing does on its homepage, lock screen, and Microsoft Launcher. In addition, this seems to involve device learning, and similar pictures will be displayed according to your preferences in the future.

As shown in the screenshot, you can configure this feature by navigating to Settings>Personalization>Background. To enable Bing wallpapers, select “Focus Collection” in the “Background” drop-down menu. It is worth noting that when the desktop focus function is activated, you will not see ads on the desktop, you can click on a small tool called “spotlight” to learn more about the wallpaper.

This feature is completely optional and users can completely disable it, so there is no need to worry about Microsoft forcing users to use Bing recommendations.

Touch keyboard personalization

Microsoft also introduced a new “touch keyboard” personalized settings to help you change the appearance of the touch keyboard.

For example, you can quickly change the color or border of keys, background opacity level, keyboard ratio, etc.

The device uses the “specified purpose” feature

The third new personalized setting is “Device Usage”, which is a new feature that optimizes your Windows experience by getting recommendations for tools and services provided by Microsoft. This feature is also completely optional, users must share their data to enter the recommended list. Currently, Microsoft is testing six categories of games, homework, creativity, entertainment, business and family.

In addition to these personalization options, Microsoft is also developing a smoothly designed UI and new icons for the file explorer. All these improvements will be released to the Widows 10 production version later this year.
