Microsoft Surface Neo has been postponed indefinitely

Microsoft announced Surface Neo in October 2019, and also released a new version of the desktop operating system Windows 10X designed for dual-screen devices such as Neo and Lenovo ThinkPad Fold, and then launched a dual-screen mobile phone Surface Duo.

In addition, Microsoft has previously released some concept videos and trailers to compare with Surface Duo, but they have been removed. Now a Chinese YouTuber has released a teardown video of the engineering machine, and we can clearly see the internal design of this dual-screen phone.

Microsoft is working hard to optimize the dual-screen system Windows 10X for single-screen PCs, but so far it has not announced any news about Surface Neo, and it is obvious that it has been postponed indefinitely.

In fact, Microsoft has previously deleted the Surface Neo list from the official website and subsequently removed the Surface Neo promotional video from the YouTube channel. Microsoft only said that they have suspended the development of the project and there is no new content to share.

In general, Surface Neo has multiple modules, densely packed, closely arranged on a thin motherboard. On the Surface Neo, there are a large number of components under its shell, including two batteries and an Intel processor, but it does not support 5G. Other components are also divided into two parts, Microsoft may use hinges with wires to connect the hardware on both sides.

Surface Neo is equipped with two 9-inch displays that support 360-degree rotation through hinges. According to leaked running points information, Surface Neo will be equipped with Intel’s Lakefield chip and the delayed Windows 10X operating system.
