Microsoft has never stopped testing new designs for Windows 10 and its various applications, and Windows Terminal is one of them. It now appears that Windows Terminal may be the first application to accept rounded corners on Windows 10.
In the past few months, there have been reports about the rounded corners of the top-level UI components in Windows 10. According to the reference materials and rumors found in the preview build, Microsoft is planning to update this design language as a standard for Windows 10 through Sun Valley update.
In the screenshots of the Tips application for Windows 10 released by Microsoft, the interface changes were accidentally disclosed for the first time. These images were deleted afterward. As shown in the screenshot below, these mock images show the more modern appearance and rounded corners of the Windows 10 Settings application.

Now, the Windows Terminal application seems to be getting rounded up, a Microsoft employee’s now-deleted tweet revealed its design. As shown in the screenshot below, Microsoft seems to be testing a version of Windows Terminal with rounded corners.
It seems that Windows 10 applications will be rounded. This may be the first time we have seen rounded corners in the application window itself. This is a good sign that Microsoft is serious about rounded corners.
According to various leaks and reports, a major update to Windows 10, code-named “Sun Valley”, will arrive in the second half of 2021. According to the recruitment information, Microsoft is carrying out “a comprehensive visual rejuvenation of the Windows experience” for Windows 10. The report also said that Microsoft is developing a start menu with rounded corners, which will float above the taskbar.
