According to the Korean media thelec news, Samsung’s upcoming new smartwatch Galaxy Watch 4 will use two battery suppliers, Chinese manufacturer ATL and Samsung SDI, and the two companies have confirmed the news. Since the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 fire broke out in 2017, Samsung has terminated the supply of ATL products, but the current Samsung S21 series of mobile phones have reused ATL batteries.
ATL will supply lithium polymer batteries for the 41mm small version of the Galaxy Watch, while Samsung SDI will supply batteries for the 45mm version. The 41mm version of the watch has a battery capacity of 240mAh, and the 45mm version has a 350mAh battery. The reason for the addition of ATL battery suppliers is to reduce costs.
