Not confident in your own Exynos? Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 3 still uses Snapdragon chips

As in previous years, the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 3 will still use Qualcomm Snapdragon chips. Galaxy Z Fold 2 uses the Snapdragon 865+ chip, and the successor model is expected to still use Qualcomm’s Snapdragon chip instead of its own Exynos 2100 chip.

Previously, MauriQHD, which had accurate reports on Samsung and Apple Hill, once again tweeted that the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will be equipped with Snapdragon chips, but he did not mention which chip will eventually be adopted. At present, it may use Snapdragon 888 or Snapdragon 888 Plus chips.

The tipster also mentioned that Galaxy Z Fold 3 will not use Exynos 2100. This is somewhat strange because compared to Exynos 990, the chip has a significant improvement in performance and should be able to handle the needs of foldable mobile phones.

It may be that Samsung still does not have enough confidence in its flagship SoC, and does not want users to have bad feedback. In addition, the tweet also stated that Fold 3 will not launch a custom chip cooperating with Samsung and AMD.
