Facebook tops the list of companies with the most data breaches

According to the reports, the software company Intact has analyzed public data and has conducted statistics and analysis of data breaches in the past 16 years to determine which companies have suffered the largest data breaches (involving more than 30,000 records).

Facebook ranked first with the most data breaches and the most record loss incidents. According to statistics, Facebook encountered 5 violations during the reporting period and lost 864,500 records. Followed by Marriott International (50520000 entries), MongoDB (477000000 entries), AOL (92000000 entries) and JPMorgan Chase (78600000 entries). The most serious year for large-scale data breaches was 2011, followed by 2013 and 2019, and the most common reasons were hacker attacks, poor security, and media loss/stolen.

Earlier, a hacking incident occurred in San Francisco-based software auditing company Codecov. Codecov said that the incident affected an unknown number of its 29,000 customers. This may trigger a large number of companies to have chain data leaks. The company’s Customers include consumer products group Procter & Gamble, web hosting company GoDaddy Inc, Washington Post and Australian software company Atlassian Corporation PLC.
