Report: YouTube has more than 2 billion monthly logged-in users

Alphabet (Google’s parent company) today released its Q1 financial report for the 2021 fiscal year ending March 31. In the subsequent conference call, Google said that YouTube has more than 2 billion logged-in users every month. Except for search ads, the growth of other revenues is driven by GOOGLE PLAY and YouTube. The financial report shows that the YouTube advertising business revenue in the first quarter was $6.05 billion, compared with $4.038 billion in the same period last year.

The Pew Research Center previously issued a report that during the new crown pandemic, YouTube was the social media application used by American users with the most significant growth. The U.S. adult usage rate of this Google-owned video service increased from 73% in 2019 to 81% in 2021. Followed by Reddit, its usage increased from 11% in 2019 to 18% in 2021.

According to the report, Alphabet’s total revenue in the first quarter was US$55.314 billion, an increase of 34% from US$41.159 billion in the same period last year. Excluding the impact of exchange rate changes, it was a year-on-year increase of 32%; in accordance with US GAAP, Alphabet’s first-quarter net profit was USD 17.930 billion, an increase of 162% from USD 6.836 billion in the same period last year.
