iCloud Documents and Data will be discontinued in 2022

According to Apple’s official news, the traditional document synchronization service iCloud Documents and Data will be discontinued in May 2022 and will be completely replaced by iCloud Cloud Disk. If you are using iCloud Documents and Data, your account will be migrated to iCloud Cloud Drive after this date.

iCloud Drive was originally launched in 2014, allowing users to easily store, access files, and share with friends and family. The documents you store in iCloud Drive will be kept up-to-date on all your devices, and you can access them on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac or PC, and iCloud.com.

After the migration, the contents of the original “documents and data” will be directly seen in the files in the iCloud cloud disk. After logging in to the Apple ID on iOS or iPadOS, users can go to Settings, [your name], and tap iCloud to open the cloud disk.

On macOS, you can find your files under iCloud in the Finder. On the iCloud.com website, after logging in, select “Pages”, “Numbers”, “Keynote Presentation” or “iCloud Cloud Disk”, and then click “Upgrade to iCloud Cloud Disk” to complete the upgrade step.
