Microsoft Edge browser Canary channel adds improved password health features

Microsoft has updated the password leak prevention feature in the Edge browser and added information about the robustness of the password. This function is currently provided through a controlled promotion in Edge Canary 92.0.895.0. Not all users upgrade to the latter version.

You can see it from the beginning. The Microsoft Edge team describes the new password health function as follows:

Added warnings about password strength and repeated use. Starting from Microsoft Edge V91, we will report back to you which passwords are weak and/or reusable across accounts, which will enable you to maintain an understanding of your own security level when you are online.

Reflected on the interface, the main change is that a new Password Health column has been added to the password page list in Settings, which can provide information about whether weak passwords are currently being used and passwords that are being reused on other websites.

Users’ passwords can be sorted into websites, weak passwords reused and leaked records, which means that priority can be given to viewing and resolving detected issues.
