OnePlus Smart TV new patent shows that it equipped with pop-up rotatable camera

Since the launch of the smart TV product line in the Indian market in 2019, many people are expecting the company to push more models to more markets such as China, the United States, and Europe. Interestingly, while the OnePlus TV 40Y1 new device is about to be launched in the Indian market.

The Dutch technology blog made an interesting camera patent of Smart TV. Earlier, OnePlus has revealed that it is creating a webcam accessory compatible with existing smart TVs, but the new patent implies that the company is also creating a new model with a built-in pop-up rotatable camera.

In addition to OnePlus, many smartphone brands have joined the smart TV market this year, such as Huawei, Honor, and OPPO. On September 29, 2020, OnePlus submitted a patent application entitled Camera Module and Electronic Equipment to the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and officially announced it to the outside world on April 15, 2021.

The 19-page document and illustrations depict a new smart TV with a pop-up camera in the center of the top of the screen. And after the camera is enabled, the camera also supports rotating movement to the left or right at a certain angle.

Compared with smart TVs that use ordinary electric lifting camera solutions (such as OPPO’s S1 series 4K QLED TV released in October last year), this means that OnePlus new TV users will not need to be sitting in front of the TV to deliver the best picture to each other.

In addition to manually adjusting the camera angle through the remote control, OnePlus also envisages the ability to automatically follow it with the help of facial recognition technology. As for when the new device will be launched, it is currently unknown.
