OneDrive on macOS will be upgraded to run natively on M1 Mac devices

Microsoft announced that it will upgrade the OneDrive app on macOS to enable it to natively support Apple M1 Mac devices released after 2021, and it also plans to introduce other performance improvements. Microsoft plans to update the OneDrive for Mac application later this year so that it can run natively on the M1 Mac.

In addition, Microsoft also plans to enable Known Folder Move (KFM) for macOS users. KFM allows people using OneDrive to access files in different devices and applications, and changes will be automatically synchronized to OneDrive.

If the user refreshes the device, KFM can automatically upload all new files to OneDrive. IT professionals can also use the silent attribute to automatically move the contents of the desktop, document, and picture folders to OneDrive.
